Ringorang Newsletter: March 1 - 5

If you'd like this weekly Ringorang newsletter sent to your e-mail inbox, click here.

In a world...

...Where a wide open Oscar race features TEN nominees for Best Picture.
...Where an ex-wife and ex-husband vie (rather cordially) for Best Director.
...Where kids actually think The Werewolf is a rip-off of Twilight.

The creators of last week's Olympic Winter Games trivia and last year's Red Carpet Rangle present: 50 trivia questions. 5 daily tournaments. 1 game that plays you!

Coming Soon. Specifically, Monday, March 1st.

Week 69 Themes:
  • Monday - Best Pictures: A look back at a few films that won Best Picture. And one that famously took multiple Oscars... except for Best Picture.
  • Tuesday - Best Actresses: They've been old, young, ingenues, murderers... and all can answer the question, "Who are you wearing?" with wit and aplomb.
  • Wednesday - Best Actors: Nobody ever asks who they're wearing, because they're all wearing the same thing. Seriously, dudes, how about some color?
  • Thursday - The King of the World: His last two films made over $1 billion. Each. If that doesn't get you your own day of trivia, I don't know what does.
  • Friday - 2009 Best Picture Nominees: 10 nominees, 10 questions. Coincidence? We think not.

Remember: 10 Qs per day, 1 per hour. Daily winner receives a $15 iTunes gift card. We also hold a daily drawing for 1 Ringorang T-shirt.

Don't forget our special contests: become our fan on Facebook and follow us on Twitter (@ringorang) to look out for those announcements.
Twitter's also the best place to drop us a line if you have a Q about our Qs.

If Facebook and Twitter aren't your thing, there's good, old fashioned e-mail, and a snazzy, feature-rich forum.

Knowledgeably,

Team Ringorang

*You may only win one iTunes gift card per game per week. To be eligible for Ringorang's T-shirt drawings, you must play at least 3 questions per day.

This week, the Question Everything Challenge delves into the strength, grit, and spirit -- the mettle -- required for a trip through Olympia in the winter. Speaking of mettle and metal and medals, have a look at the ones crafted for the Vancouver 2010 Games: They're killer. As in orca. Literally.

Week 68 Themes:
  • Monday - Vancouver: It's a city. It's an island. Sometimes, it's even The Bronx (on film).
  • Tuesday - Winter Olympia: We'll take a look at some notable moments and some of the 18 cities that have hosted the 21 Olympic Winter Games.
  • Wednesday - Olympic Sports on the Rocks: All sports take place on a (figurative) level playing field. These sports take place on one covered in ice.
  • Thursday - Olympic Sports Blended: Don't get snowed over by these Qs about Olympic snow sports.
  • Friday - Mettleful Medalists: Step up to the medal podium for trivia about those who won bronze, silver, and gold.

If you win any particular day, you'll win yourself a $15 iTunes gift card! Play every day and you'll be eligible for our daily T-shirt drawing, too!

Remember, that's not the only way to receive prizes. We run special contests throughout the Ringoverse, so be sure to become our fan on Facebook and follow us on Twitter (@ringorang) and look out for those announcements. Twitter's also the best place to drop us a line if you have a Q about our Qs. If Facebook and Twitter aren't your thing, there's good, old fashioned e-mail, and a snazzy, feature-rich forum.

Ringorang Newsletter: February 15 - 19

If you'd like this weekly Ringorang newsletter sent to your e-mail inbox, click here.

We're stuffing Week 67 of the All-Purpose Question Everything Challenge to the brim with timely trivia, from beads to broken things to being Black in America. There's also That's What She Said Day, but since that's more of an unofficial holiday, we'll take a look at love.

And when you don't have a Q ticking down on you, please take our survey!

Week 67 Themes:
  • Monday - Valentine's Day: Today, Ringorang is for lovers. Unless you're a Prohibition-era gangster, in which case it's for bumping off your rivals.
  • Tuesday - Mardis Gras: And today, Ringorang is for Catholics cutting loose before a period of penitence and prayer. Or coeds cutting loose because they can. Or anyone looking for an excuse for debauchery. Whatever works for you.
  • Wednesday - Total Recall: We'll recall some of the more memorable product recalls in recent history. Jump in, Toyota, the water is warm!
  • Thursday - NBA: The second half of the basketball season is now underway, so we thought a refresher course was in order. The NBA -- where trivia happens.
  • Friday - Black History: February is Black History Month. We'll take a look at some notable faces, past and present.
If you win any particular day, you'll win yourself a $15 iTunes gift card! Play every day and you'll be eligible for our daily T-shirt drawing, too!

Of course, that's not the only way to get prizes. If you find yourself out of the running for any particular day's game, you may want to shoot for an Achievement, special tests of timing and commitment. And remember, we do special contests through our Twitter and Facebook channels. Be sure to become our fan on Facebook and follow us on Twitter (@ringorang). Twitter's also the best place to drop us a line if you have a Q about our Qs.

Please take our survey

A lot has changed in a year. We have new players participating in the game, and we've made some changes in our appearance, as well as the structure of our tournaments.

A year ago, we asked for you all to participate in a survey. Today, we're asking once again.

We're asking all of our players to take part in our new survey. It'll help us understand you as a player. With your answers, we can help craft a better game and experience for you.

The survey is 15 questions, but it only takes a few minutes. We're only asking about your experience with the game, as well as any of the contests we've run on Facebook and Twitter.

If you have any questions for us regarding this survey, or if you want to suggest something to us, please leave it here in the comments section.

Thank you and I hope you can fill out the survey as soon as possible.

Once again, thanks for playing Ringorang! (and as I type this, I just got Bonus City, yes!)

Please click here to take the survey.

Ringorang Newsletter: February 8 - 12

If you'd like this weekly Ringorang newsletter sent to your e-mail inbox, click here.

With Valentine's Day and the Olympic Winter Games on the horizon (sneak preview!), we thought we'd use Week 66 of the All-Purpose Question Everything Challenge to count our rings before they hatch. We also have the birthday of a defining Republican and, just for kicks, a bunch of letters we threw together to look fancy. FTW!

Week 66 Themes:
  • Monday - Put a Ring On It: The unbroken line of a ring carries with it much symbolism. And several pop hits, too. What do you do, square?
  • Tuesday - IA (Initially Abbreviated): And you thought it stood for Internal Affairs.
  • Wednesday - The Radio Stars: Video didn't kill them, it just gave a face to the voice. Unfortunately, in some cases.
  • Thursday - "Lady" Be Good: There are ladies, and then there are Ladies. Here's 10 notable examples of the latter.
  • Friday - Honest Abe: 10 score and 1 year ago, Abraham Lincoln was born, I presume in a house made of Lincoln logs. To celebrate, we're offering one Q for every score since. (Trivia hint: a score is a group of 20. Also, he may have been born in a log cabin, but it most certainly was not made of Lincoln logs.)

If you win any particular day, you'll win yourself a $15 iTunes gift card! Play every day and you'll be eligible for our daily T-shirt drawing, too!

Remember, we do special contests through our Twitter and Facebook channels. Be sure to become our fan on Facebook and follow us on Twitter (@ringorang). Twitter's also the best place to drop us a line if you have a Q about our Qs.

Achievement contests are coming

Hey everyone,

We're bringing back the achievement contests! We had a fun time running them in the past and we wanted to conduct them once again for the new players that have joined the game.

If you don't remember how it went; we told you all of a specific task to do, and the first person to get it done won a prize! We did it a little bit differently in the past, so here are the new rules and how it's going to go.

= = =

First off, you'll need to be playing Ringorang. It will ONLY involve playing the game. Announcements will be made by way of other networks, but the tasks will solely involve the game.

Starting Monday, I will announce a specific task for you to do. It will be something straight-forward, such as obtaining a certain amount of dallions, or playing a certain amount of questions.

The first person to achieve the task and have proof of their achievement will win the prize designated.

To submit your achievement, you can do it one of two ways:

1. Post it to our Facebook page.
2. E-mail us (contact at ringorang.com)

We'll make the announcement of the winner on our Facebook page and Twitter, so be sure to be a fan and follower and find out right away for updates on the achievement contest!

= = =

Here's some other rules:

* -- In the event of a tie, all players involved will be put into a drawing, and the person chosen is the winner.

* -- All decisions are final by us.

* -- It might take a little while to verify submissions once they're sent in or posted. Don't worry, we're making sure everything is accurate.

* -- Only one person can win an achievement unless otherwise notified. Let's say the challenge is 300 dallions and someone wins. That leg of the contest is now over. You can still show us your rad 300 dallion scores after that, but just know that specific achievement task is done.

= = =

The winner will receive a Ringorang T-shirt!

If you have any questions, please post it here. Thanks and stay tuned on Monday when we announce the first challenge!
