Merry Christmas folks! Our gift to you on this day: the themes for next week's All-Purpose Question Everything Challenge! Admit it, you're surprised ;)

  • Monday - Goods & eServices: A quiz about the indispensable things that barely existed (if at all) when we were partying like it's 1999.
  • Tuesday - A Decade of Pop: Here's a fun age test -- if I say, "Crunk," you say...
  • Wednesday - The Big Screen 2000!: Remember when it was cool to add "2000" to a title to make it exotic and future-y? Yeah, that era is gone. But these movies and TV shows might stand the test of time.
  • Thursday - People of the Decade: Here's 10 folks who, in some way, shape, or form, affected the world in the last 10 years.
  • Friday - Events of the Decade: Y2K was a (welcome) letdown, but here's 10 defining moments of the Zeroes.

More Christmas Caroling with Ringorang

Posted by Mike Dotta on 12/22/2009 03:52:00 PM in , ,

A little Christmas song from @Contestgrl. (Sung to the tune of "Hark the Herald Angels Sing."):

Hark my angel Harold sang
Gotta love that Ringorang
Questions asked thoughout the day
Keep the smiles coming my way.

Information at my thumb
still sometimes I feel so dumb
Should I really take a guess
Works sometimes, others a mess.

Hark my angel Harold sang.
Can't be without Ringorang!

Be sure to read Chaoticfluffy's carol too.  Submit your own and we'll post it on the blog!

Week 59 of The All-Purpose Question Everything Challenge runs, as usual, from 8:00am to 6:00pm PST, Monday through Friday.

  • Monday - Frosty Figures: December always brings a familiar cast of characters who spread Christmas cheer. And in some cases, Christmas fear.
  • Tuesday - Joy to the Screen: Holiday films are a genre unto themselves. We take a look at 10 holiday classics.
  • Wednesday - Festivus Foods: Because nothing says "Christmas" like excessively decorated eats.
  • Thursday - Contemporary Carols: When Buddy the Elf said, "The best way to spread Christmas cheer is singing loud for all to hear," we're not sure he was referring to Wham!
  • Friday - On This Day: December 25th is a landmark day, and not just for Christians. Here's ten iconic moments, tragic deaths, and big births that happened to people whose name doesn't end with "of Nazareth."

Another Facebook contest!

Posted by GC2 on 12/18/2009 10:13:00 AM
Yup, it's another Facebook contest! For fun, we're going to call it the Ringorang Power Hour. Here's how it goes ...

I will ask you five questions during the hour. You'll have until the time indicated to put up an answer. Once I say "This question is closed," then you cannot submit another answer. You can only submit an answer one time per question.

Here's an example:

KSBW-TV is located in Salinas, Calif. The call letters refer to what slogan normally used for the city? You have until 12:10 p.m. to post an answer.

So from that point on, you have until 12:10 p.m. to post an answer. I'm going off of my clock, so when I close the question, that's it. Also, ONE ANSWER per person per question.

The point system goes like this:

First person to get it correct: 4 points.
Second person to get it correct: 3 points.
Third person to get it correct: 2 points.
Everyone else that gets it correct: 1 point.
Incorrect answers: 0 points.

Most points win. In the event of a tie, I'll have a tiebreaker question.

The winner will receive a Ringorang T-shirt.

Good luck! If you have any questions, leave a comment here.

DISCLAIMER: I have the right to cancel a question at anytime for clarity issues.

ALL POSSIBLE ANSWERS must be posted on that question on the Facebook page! If it is posted anywhere else, it will not count!

  • Tuesday - Lights! Camera! Tagline!: Of course, it's hard to separate LA from its most famous product: the movies. Can identify the films behind these 10 ad taglines?
  • Wednesday - Shaken & Stirred: There's some real history inside every cocktail shaker. Today's trivia deals with potent potables and the things we make with them.
  • Thursday - Flight of the Humans: 106 years ago today, the Wright Brothers successfully took to the air. See how much you know about man's forays into the sky.

Simply visit the game site, then click MY GAMES in the top navigation bar. You'll see the list of active games. Move down to DCN. Underneath the green 'Game Site' button is an UNSUBSCRIBE link. Click it and you're all set!
