“Ring! Around the Clock” Update

Posted by Mike Dotta on 11/12/2009 03:48:00 PM
Hi, everyone! Mike here.

As you may have heard, Ringorang was expecting to launch a new trivia game this week called ‘Ring! Around the Clock.’ Unlike the ‘Question Everything’ game, this tournament is set to run 24 hours a day, 7 days a week—ending and restarting every day at 12pm PT. I like to think of it as a geek’s nirvana so I dubbed it “Trivia Heaven 24/7.”

Unfortunately, I have some sad news to share. Much to our displeasure, the launch of ‘Ring! Around the Clock’ has been postponed until further notice.

No, it’s not a matter of inclement weather (in the case of NASA) or an e-coli infection (in the case of Elton John). It’s a technical issue.

Although we were on track to release the game this week, we’ve encountered some unforeseen problems in the final stages of testing. Currently, any down time between Ringorang tournaments allows our Development Team to push updates, restart servers and do other maintenance related tasks. We believed we had these operations figured out for the new game, however, our solution proved to be ineffective once the game was pushed from a ‘testing’ server to a ‘live’ server.

We apologize for the delay. A game like ‘Ring! Around the Clock’ has been a big request from many of our international players, midnight oilers, and weekend warriors. And since the very beginning of Ringorang, we’ve internally discussed how awesome it would be to run a game that was ‘always on.’

We know you’re jonesing for your trivia fix after hours and over the weekend and we are doing our best to satiate your appetites. We can all rest easier knowing our Development Team is busily working away at the controls. And we hope to have the ‘Ring! Around the Clock’ up and running soon.

Thank you for your patience everyone! We just need a little more………time.
